Founded by Alix Verley Pietrafesa, Alix of Bohemia is an artisan fashion house that celebrates modern bohemian style through expressive creations rich in texture and story. Inspired by her family’s vintage textiles, she works with artisans from around the world to craft limited-edition pieces that blend the free spirit of the 1960s–70s with meticulous craftsmanship.
Each garment is designed in a New York atelier, made from natural fibers and entirely handcrafted. Embroidery, weaving, quilting, and artisanal printing reflect the brand’s commitment to slow fashion. These pieces are meant to be lived in, growing more beautiful over time, much like a beloved pair of vintage jeans.
The designer draws inspiration from her Italian textile heritage and French artistic tradition, combining romance, boldness, and refinement. Her recent collections are an ode to artisanal elegance, featuring intricate applications, hand-crafted patterns, and meticulous details, sometimes even made at home, such as clay buttons shaped by her mother.
