Leather, palladium-plated brass and 24-karat gold, simulated topaz
Couture jewelry is made from a brass alloy coated with gold or palladium silver. These metals don't like getting wet, and oils or sweat can cause them to tarnish more quickly. The lifespan of your Sonia Petroff jewelry depends on how you care for it.
Avoid wearing your jewelry in mineral baths, spas, jacuzzis and swimming pools. Remove your jewelry before washing your hands, exercising, or going to bed
Before putting on jewelry, make sure that lotions, perfumes and makeup have been absorbed into the skin
Apply all hair products, especially hairspray, before putting on your jewelry.
Avoid extreme temperatures, as they can affect stones and even metal
Before storing your jewelry, make sure it is dry, as humidity accelerates the tarnishing process.
Ideally, store them in a soft-lined box or pouch. Try to separate the pieces to avoid them rubbing against each other or getting tangled. Clean them gently with a soft cloth. Avoid soaps and chemicals.
